The Role
The Billing & Accounts Payable Analyst supports the financial integrity of recurring revenue streams within a cloudâservices environment. This role manages the endâtoâend billing cycle for subscription, consumptionâbased, and contractâbased cloud services. Responsibilities include validating usage data, ensuring billing accuracy, maintaining compliance with Dutch VAT/BTW and EU invoicing rules, and partnering with crossâfunctional teams such as Sales, Cloud Operations, Customer Success, and Revenue Operations.
This role will also work alongside our Accounts Payable team verifying invoices, matching them with purchase orders, resolving discrepancies, maintaining vendor records, and scheduling payments. AP staff ensure compliance with internal controls, support monthâend closing activities, and contribute to accurate financial reporting. Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to work effectively with both internal teams and external vendors are essential.

Day-to-day at Ekco:
Billing Analyst - Responsibilities
¡ Generate invoices for subscription, metered usage, and hybrid cloud billing models.
¡ Validate consumption and usage data from cloud platforms (e.g., Azure, AWS, private cloud meters).
¡ Ensure billing reflects contract terms, licence counts, usage tiers, overages, and discounts.
¡ Manage customer billing calendars and renewal schedules.
¡ Support new billing systems, automated billing processes and help improve billing workflows.
¡ Reconcile usage data from cloud systems (e.g. APIs, BI tools, cost-management portals) with ERP/CRM billing systems.
¡ Ensure alignment with Dutch VAT/BTW rules, EU invoicing legislation, and internal finance policies.
¡ Support Dutch GAAP and IFRS 15 compliance relating to subscription and cloudâservice revenue.
¡ Assist with audits by producing accurate billing documentation and audit trails.
¡ Work closely with Sales, Service Delivery, Customer Success, and Revenue Operations to ensure accurate service activation and contract interpretation.
¡ Manage billing inquiries and provide clear explanations of consumption, overage charges, or subscription adjustments.
¡ Partner with Cloud Operations to validate customer usage spikes, anomalies, or billing metadata discrepancies.
¡ Identify service or system issues affecting billing and recommend process improvements.
Accounts Payable Analyst - Responsibilities
¡ Process supplier invoices accurately and in a timely manner, ensuring correct coding and adherence to company policies.
¡ Perform matching of invoices, purchase orders, and goods receipts, resolving any discrepancies with internal teams.
¡ Prepare and schedule weekly or monthly payment runs, including electronic payments, cheques, and international transfers.
¡ Maintain upâtoâdate vendor records and respond promptly to supplier enquiries.
¡ Reconcile supplier statements and follow up on outstanding items to ensure accounts remain current.
¡ Support monthâend close activities, including accruals, reporting, and ledger reconciliation.
¡ Monitor invoice approval workflows and proactively chase outstanding approvals.
¡ Ensure compliance with internal controls, audit requirements, and relevant financial regulations.
¡ Identify opportunities to streamline AP processes and improve efficiency.
¡ Collaborate with Procurement, Finance, and Operations teams to resolve issues and support overall financial accuracy.
Required Qualifications & Experience
Education
Bachelorâs degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, Information Systems, or a related field is preferred.
Experience
2â4 years of billing, revenue operations, data analysis, or finance experience ideally within cloud services, SaaS, IaaS, telecom, or technology sectors.
Experience with usageâbased billing, subscription lifecycle management, or cloud metering systems is strongly preferred.
Technical Skills
Strong Excel skills (XLOOKUP, pivot tables, formula auditing, data transformation).
Experience with billing/ERP platforms (e.g., Netsuite, SAP, Oracle, Dynamics 365, Zuora, Chargebee).
Understanding of cloud billing concepts (e.g., consumption metrics, usage metering, cost units, licence utilisation).
Strong analytical and numerical accuracy.
Language Requirements
Fluent Dutch and English (written and verbal).
Additional EMEA languages are an advantage.
