The Role
We are seeking an experienced Technical Delivery Manager to lead and oversee multiple 3rd line technical teams across the business. In this role, you will manage a group of Technical Team Leaders, ensuring their teams deliver high quality technical services and support to meet both business and client requirements.
Day-to-day at Ekco:
Reporting directly to the Technical Delivery Director, you will be responsible for driving operational excellence, ensuring consistent delivery, and promoting continuous improvement across all technical areas. You will work closely with your team leaders, providing guidance, support, and leadership to align technical activities with wider business objectives.
What you’ll be responsible for:
Lead and manage multiple 3rd line technical teams through their respective Technical Team Leaders, ensuring teams are motivated, effective, and aligned with business objectives.
Take ownership of the operational delivery of all technical services, ensuring consistent, high-quality outcomes for internal and external stakeholders.
Act as the point of escalation for complex technical issues, providing guidance and direction to ensure timely and effective resolution.
Collaborate with the Technical Delivery Director to define priorities, allocate resources, and plan work across teams to meet business and client requirements.
Monitor team performance against agreed KPIs and SLAs, using insights to drive continuous improvement and optimise service delivery.
Promote and embed ITIL best practice across technical teams, ensuring structured approaches to incident, problem, and change management.
Identify opportunities to improve processes, tools, and working practices across teams, leading or supporting initiatives to enhance efficiency and service quality.
Provide coaching, guidance, and development to Technical Team Leaders, ensuring leadership capability is strong across all teams.
Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement within and across technical teams.
Ensure clear and effective communication between teams, senior management, and other business functions.
Produce regular reports on technical delivery, highlighting achievements, risks, and areas for development to senior management.
About You:
Experienced in leading multiple technical teams within a managed service or IT environment, with a strong track record of delivering high-quality technical services.
Confident managing senior engineers and Technical Team Leaders, with the ability to motivate, coach, and develop staff to reach their full potential.
Technically strong, with a broad scope of experience in areas such as Desktop Support, Microsoft services, SQL, Linux and networking. Individual does not need to be technically strong in all areas but can demonstrate experience across multiple technology areas.
Knowledgeable in ITIL and best practice frameworks, with the ability to apply structured processes to improve service delivery.
Comfortable using KPIs, SLAs, and performance metrics to monitor, analyse, and improve team and service performance.
Approachable and professional, able to build strong relationships with technical teams, senior management, and other business functions.
Well organised, adaptable, and able to work effectively under pressure, balancing operational demands with strategic priorities.
Committed to continuous improvement, fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and technical excellence across teams.
