The Role
As a Backup and Disaster Recovery (BDR) Analyst, you will support the BDR team in maintaining and executing backup and recovery processes, ensuring our clients' data is secure and recoverable. Your role is essential in providing a foundational level of support and executing day-to-day BDR tasks to maintain business continuity.

Day to day your role will involve
- Monitoring and Reporting: Monitor backup jobs and disaster recovery readiness, ensuring timely completion and addressing any failures promptly.
- Incident Response: Assist in the response to backup and recovery incidents, providing initial troubleshooting and escalation as necessary.
- Data Integrity: Verify data integrity and availability, conducting routine checks and reporting discrepancies.
- Documentation: Maintain and update BDR documentation, including process descriptions and recovery procedures.
- Support and Collaboration: Work with BDR Engineers and other IT teams to ensure seamless execution of backup and recovery tasks.
Engage with the Role
In this role, you will actively contribute by:
- Executing Routine Tasks: Performing regular backup and restore operations, ensuring data is backed up according to schedules.
- Incident Handling: Assisting in the investigation and resolution of backup and recovery issues.
- Documentation Maintenance: Keeping all BDR-related documentation current and accurate.
- Team Collaboration: Supporting the BDR team in larger projects and initiatives, providing foundational support and assistance.

About You
- Great organisational skills and attention to detail.
- 1-2 years of experience in IT support or a related field.
- Basic understanding of backup and disaster recovery concepts.
- Familiarity with common backup tools and software.
- Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
- Good organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
- Effective communication skills.
Bonus points if you have
- Experience with industry-leading backup and disaster recovery tools.
- Basic knowledge of cloud-based backup solutions.
