The Role
Day-to-day at Ekco:
We are looking for a skilled Patching and Vulnerability Management Engineer to manage patch management and vulnerability management services across multiple customer environments. This role is responsible for ensuring timely patch deployment, monitoring remediation progress, and helping customers reduce security risk through effective vulnerability identification and resolution.
You will work closely with customers and internal teams to deliver high-quality patching services, investigate deployment failures, analyze security findings, and support ongoing improvements to customer security posture.
What you’ll be responsible for:
Manage patch management and vulnerability management services for multiple customers.
Ensure timely deployment of security patches across customer environments.
Generate and deliver patching compliance reports and vulnerability assessment reports.
Monitor patching schedules, troubleshoot failed deployments, and take corrective action where
needed.
Conduct regular vulnerability scans, analyze risks, and recommend remediation actions.
Handle customer inquiries, service requests, and technical escalations related to patching and
vulnerabilities.
Participate in customer calls and meetings to discuss security posture, patching progress, and
remediation efforts.
Work with internal teams to resolve security concerns and ensure SLA compliance.
Maintain accurate documentation, customer records, and reporting for patching activities.
About You:
2–3 years of experience in patch management and vulnerability management, preferably with Qualys.
Experience delivering patching and security services in a managed services environment.
Strong understanding of Windows, macOS, and Linux patching and security best practices.
Familiarity with Qualys Cloud Agent, vulnerability scanning, and remediation processes.
Excellent communication skills with the ability to produce clear customer-facing reports.
Ability to manage multiple customer environments efficiently.
Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
Experience analysing and responding to zero-day vulnerabilities and coordinating urgent patch rollouts.
Familiarity with CVSS scoring, threat prioritisation, and vulnerability remediation strategies.
Nice to Have:
Experience working in an MSSP or managed services environment.
Exposure to endpoint security, compliance reporting, or threat remediation workflows.
Relevant cybersecurity or systems administration certifications.
