Title: Technical Project Manager
Responsibilities and Duties
To be considered for this role the successful candidate must have worked as a Technical Project Manager in an Information Technology (IT) environment for a minimum of 5-7 years and have an industry recognised certification in Project Management e.g. Prince2 Practitioner qualification.
The ideal candidate will come from a technical background. As the Technical Project Manager, you will be responsible for planning, coordinating, and delivering complex security and cloud projects for Ekco customers, ensuring projects are delivered to time, budget and quality with effective handover to Ekco Service Operations Teams.
The ideal candidate will combine their technical expertise with project governance, ensuring solutions are delivered on time, within scope, and aligned to security best practices and compliance standards. You will act as the primary liaison between technical teams, stakeholders, and customers.
You should expect to typically manage multiple projects concurrently; this could be bespoke projects or urgent improvements and upgrades. The ability to react well to pressure in a fast-paced environment is going to be essential.

Day to Day Activities of the role:
Providing comprehensive project plans, from both technical and Ekco resources, detailing scope, roles, responsibilities, risk assessment, budgets, and timescales
Analysing, refining and liaising on business requirements, translating these into project requirements
Analysing business operations to understand their strengths and weaknesses, and identifying opportunities to automate processes and functions
Managing and liaising with 3rd Parties as required in the delivery of projects where required
Providing effective communications to the stakeholders and points of contact, and 3rd Parties (where applicable) to ensure awareness of project status, activities, changes, issues and progress.
Producing detailed, clear, consistent, and timely documentation (Contracts, SOW, etc) whether for internal use or wider stakeholders
Ensuring effective and timely identification, capture and management of project Risks, Assumptions, Issues and Dependencies.
Ensuring effective and timely management of project change with capture of change (scope / schedule / budget), definition of impact, management of acceptance and subsequent project plan and resource update.
Ensuring that key milestones are completed on time and in accordance with defined requirements and agreed budgets
Monitoring, tracking, forecasting and reporting projects status to the PMO and senior business stakeholders.
Provide structured project management, communications guidance and assistance to project team members.
Ensure project team members provide quality work results and conform to standards.
Ensure compliance with PMO governance, financial tracking, project forecasting, cost control, throughout the project lifecycle
Essential Skills / Experience:
Must have worked as a Technical Project Manager in an Information Technology (IT) environment for a minimum of 5-7 years.
Must have an industry recognised certification in Project Management e.g. Prince2 Practitioner qualification.
Must have full driving licence and be willing to travel to Ekco and client locations as required to complete project requirements
Experience working in fast-paced environments
Ability to approach, own and solve problems independently as well as part of a team
Comfortable switching and adapting to changing priorities
Demonstrate successful delivery of multiple technical projects.
Good written and verbal communication skills to assist translation of complex technical subjects for sometimes non-technical audiences.
Typically, this level resource should have five years of experience or more working within the IT Services Industry.
Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office business applications, including MS Project.
Strong stakeholder management skills, including executive-level engagement
Technical Knowledge:
Strong understanding of our Microsoft cloud platforms e.g. Azure, EM+S, 0365
Strong understanding of technical solutions e.g. MS Defender, Windows Server, VMWare & Veeam.
Strong knowledge and understanding of the IT industry and managed services.
Familiarity with security technologies (SIEM, firewalls, IAM, endpoint protection).
Bonus points if you have experience with:
ITIL Service Transition or Service Operations
Knowledge of technologies such as SharePoint/ Active Directory/ Messaging/ Virtualisation / Networking
